APC governors in closed-door meeting in Abuja

Governors  elected on the platform of All Progressives Congress have met at the Kebbi State Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja.

It was gathered that the meeting which was closed to media, will discuss the state of the party in the light of the recent Judgement on the Ondo State Governorship election.

The governors are expected to discuss the implication of allowing their fellow governors continue to partake in the day-to-day running of the party in the light of concerns being raised by senior party officials who are lawyers.

A source privy to the meeting who spoke to our correspondent on condition of anonymity said, “Well, there is a court judgement and interpretation of the same. They are expected to take a position which will be communicated to Presidency.”

Recall that the Supreme Court on July 28, in a split judgement of 4-3 held the victory of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu at the October 10, 2020 Ondo State Governorship election.
